Raymond M. Epperson, 85, of Indianapolis went to be with the Lord on June 19, 2010. Raymond was born November 22, 1925 in Chattanooga, TN. He leaves behind his three sons: James, Lee, and Mike Epperson. Five grandchildren Jeremy, Luke, Amanda, Kegan and April. Three step-grandchildren: Tj, David and Linda. Six great-grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren. In WWII , he proudly served in the US Navy aboard the USS Uhlmann, Hamner and Shangri-La. He was awarded the American Area, Asiatic-Pacific and European-African Campaign, Good Conduct and World War II Victory medals. He was a cabinet maker for 30 years. Ray married Joanna Cousins on February 6, 1946 and she precedes him in death. He is also preceded by a daughter: Anna Rae, parents: Claude and Donna Epperson. Family will receive friends from 4-7 PM Tuesday at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens and Funeral Home, 1977 South State Road 135 Greenwood, IN 46143. Private burial will be Wednesday at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with Military Graveside rites.
