Dessie was the one of several children of John Elmer & Rebekah Lucresa McCay McKillip. Her currently known siblings include: Mary, Luther Talmadge, Bertha M, Maude Ester, Bert A, and Lawrence Edwin. According to a grandchild of John & Rebekah's there were 11 children, 8 who grew to adulthood. Still looking for rest.

(In some records it shows her name as Bessie, but that is a transcription error. According to a great-nephew, her name was Dessie not Bessie. As we have seen over the years, the census folks didn't not always list names accurately!)

Dessie married Bunnie Olivier Hopkins August 18, 1912 in Sentinel, Washita Co, OK.
