He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, the American Legion Riders Post#77 and the Elks Lodge #2849 at Lake Oconee.
Al served his country in the U.S. Marines and Air Force during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly.
Surviving are his children, Kathy Shearon, Allen Yantis, Jr. and his wife, Mary, Gary Yantis and his fiancée, Tracey; grandchildren, Jackie Yantis, Ashley Yantis, Tiffany Yantis, Briana Roberts, Brandon Houston; nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
A graveside service will be held 3:30 o'clock, Friday, August 6 at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, a love offering may be made to the family to assist with final expenses.

Members of the American Legion Riders, Post 77, rumbled through Olde Town Conyers on Friday afternoon as part of a funeral procession for their fellow member and Korean War veteran Al Yantis, who passed away Tuesday at age 77. The men escorted Yantis' remains for a graveside service at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens. A unit of the local Post 77, the American Legion Riders provide escort for funerals of veterans, participate in parades and hold rides throughout the year. "We provide a representation of veterans everywhere we go when we put on our vests as they show that we support those who have taken care of our freedom," said Charlie Wilson, director of American Legion Riders, Post 77.
