Charles David "Rusty" Teafatiller of Clayton, OK was born July 10, 1950, in Marietta, the son of Melvin and Dixie Purcell Teafatiller. Mr. Teafatiller passed away Thursday, June 10, 2010, at his residence at Clayton. He grew up in Love County, made his home in Antlers, OK two years and had been a resident of Clayton for the past year. Mr. Teafatiller and Joyce Morton were married June 10, 1968 and then remarried on December 31, 2008.

A 1968 graduate of Thackerville High School, Mr. Teafatiller then entered the U.S. Marine Corps. He served 19 months in Vietnam and received numerous awards including a Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Star, the Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device, the Combat Action Ribbon, the Rifle Sharpshooter Badge and the Good Conduct Medal. Mr. Teafatiller was involved in various operations and campaigns, such as Operation Arizona Territory, Operation Dodge City, and served with Echo Company on special missions to Cambodia. He was honorably discharged on December 26, 1974 with the rank of Corporal (E-4).

Mr. Teafatiller enjoyed motorcycles, horses and tinkering with his tractor. His other hobbies included Native American beadwork and art. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Mr. Teafatiller was a member of the Living Water Church in Antlers.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Doug Teafatiller and Bruce Teafatiller; and two daughters, Regena Teafatiller in 2004 and Amber Fisher in 2005.

He is survived by his wife who was his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Joyce Morton Teafatiller of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Nathan and Dee Teafatiller of Elmore City, OK; four daughters and sons-in-law, Collette and Chris Davis of Oklahoma City, OK, Stephanie and Martin Allen of Houston, TX, Heather and Brandon Harris of Cache, OK and Kylene Savage of Marietta; three sisters and brother-in-law, Carla and Butch Wright, Judy Teafatiller and Karen Teafatiller, all of Antlers; 10 grandchildren, Michelle, Cassie, Rahbecca, Kelsie, Shamar, Hannah, Nikki, Lillianna, Rheanna and Cannon; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Casket bearers will be Chris Davis, Danny Burcham, Lionel Winters, Donnie Flatt, Butch Wright and Charlie Thompson. Honorary bearers are Shamar Duncan and Cannon Allen.
