Charles "Charlie" Edgar Wood, 72, of Lubbock passed from this life on Friday, August 25, 2006. He was born on August 26, 1933 in Faxon, Okla. to Guy and Sapora Thomas Wood. Charlie attended Faxon High and Jr. College. He served our country in the Air Force. He moved to Lubbock in 1990 from Lawton, Okla. Charlie met Alice Ann Brock and they were married January 29, 1990 in Wichita Falls. For a number of years he was a security officer for South Plains Security and Texas Tech and retired from farming.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Alice; one son, Mark and his wife, Cathy Wood of Geronimo, Okla.; one stepson, Wendall Elms and wife, Monica of Flower Mound, TX; two daughters, Cindy Logue and husband, Wesley of Geronimo, Okla. and Michele Francis and husband, Doug of Chattanooga, Okla.; one step-daughter, Cindy Lancaster and husband, Rich of Lubbock; one brother, Bob Wood of Dodge City, Kan.; two sisters, Viola and Glada; eleven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Family will greet friends from 4 until 6 p.m., today, August 27th at White Funeral Home of Lubbock. Celebration of Life Services will be 1 p.m., Monday, August 28, 2006 at White Memorial Chapel. Interment will be in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park in Woodrow. Arrangements are under the personal care of White Funeral Home.
