Born Feb. 1, 1908, in Peoria to Glen A. and Grace E. McCully Babcock, he married Alma Boundy on June 28, 1930, in East Peoria. She died Feb. 8, 1988.
One daughter, two great-granddaughters and two brothers also preceded him in death.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. William (Jeannine) Payne of East Peoria; two sons, John of Naperville and Jeff of Chesterton, Ind.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A life member of Painters Union Local 157, he was a self- employed painting contractor, retiring in 1970. He served on Tazewell County Board and East Peoria Community High School Board and was a Groveland Township supervisor.
Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery.
