LAINGSBURG - Mrs. Elna I. Smith, 56, of 6480 Shaftsburg Rd. died Sunday morning at Hurley Hospital in Flint. She had been transferred there from Memorial Hospital about two weeks ago. Death was attributed to a cerebral hemorrhage. Funeral will be held at the Church of the Nazarene in Laingsburg at 1 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Willis Weaver officiating. Burial will be in the Laingsburg Cemetery. The body will rest at the McDougall Funeral Home until 11 a.m. Wednesday. Mrs. Smith was born in Bath Township June 16, 1910. She was the daughter of George and Almeda Burnett. She graduated from Bath High School and lived in the Bath-Laingsburg area most of her life. She was married to Clair Smith in Flint June 11, 1931. He died in 1963. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. She worked as a housewife. Surviving are: one son, Alton of Owosso, one daughter, Mrs. Joyce Kyes of Holly; five grandchildren; three brothers, Royal Burnett of Eagle, Harold Burnett of Bath and Leslie Dumont of Laingsburg; and three sisters, Mrs. Wenda Keene of Lansing, Mrs. Wanda Altman of Plant City, Fla., and Mrs. Gertrude Case of Laingsburg. One brother and one sister preceded her in death.
