Lyle Williams Formerly of Wallowa 1933-2003

Lyle Glen Williams, 69, of Boardman and formerly of Wallowa, died May 12 at his home. A private family service will be held later. Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Williams was born May 25, 1933, to Thomas and Eliza Zumwalt Williams at Promise. He attended schools at Wallowa and worked on the construction of the McNary Dam in Umatilla. He also worked in the logging industry and drove a log truck for many years. He retired in 1995 and lived in Hermiston and Boardman. He enjoyed traveling, fishing and hunting.

Survivors include children, Ronald Williams of Hermiston, Gary Williams of Umatilla and Glenda Winston of Boardman; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and brothers, Merle Williams of Hermiston, Fred Williams of Wallowa, Gail Williams of Union and Leonard Williams of Grass Valley, Calif. Two sisters and three brothers died earlier.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Burns Mortuary, P.O. Box 289 Hermiston 97838.
