Born at the Hale farm, Greene County, Tennessee. Served as Sergeant Co. "L" 11th Regiment Tennessee Cavalry Volunteers and Co. "M" 9th Tennessee Cavalry, USA.
Farmer and furniture maker. After 1883 lived on the Warrensburg Road in the brick home built by his father-in-law Charles Anthony Lovett in 1876 (still standing). Died at his daughter Ona Hale Holland's home in Oven Creek, Tennessee.
