The family of Mary Frances (Arnold) Hallmark mourns the loss of their dearly departed mother on March 11, 2007, at NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield. She died in her sleep after a year-long battle with cancer. Mrs. Hallmark was born in Armorel, AR July 10, 1937, to Ethel and Harvie Arnold. Known by Mary Fran by some, she was the oldest of five (surviving) children. She married at 14, had her first child the following year at 15, and ended up a single parent by her early 30s. Mrs. Hallmark raised her six children by working various positions ranging from a seamstress for Olga Lingerie to privately employed for Vandenberg Air Force Base. She most recently worked and retired from Frigidaire in Springfield. She is survived by all six of her children, Billie Hallmark, Thomas Hallmark, Diana Hallmark Brubaker, Timothy Hallmark, all of Robertson County; Cathy Hallmark Ramose of Palmdale, Calif. and Annette Hallmark Smith of Orlando, FL; 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren (with a seventh on the way). A private service will be held in Cathridge MO, where she is survived by three sisters, one aunt and one uncle. Robertson County Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
