Miss Margaret McDill Dec 14, 1908 pg 68

Miss Margaret E. McDill, who for years had been a teacher in schools first near Biggsville and late in Monmouth, died in Monmouth hospital Dec. 14, 1908, after a critical illness of two weeks duration. She had undergone an operation a few days before the end came, and was thought to be getting along fine until the change and took her away peacefully. Miss McDill was born on a farm near South Henderson in 1839, and made her home there until 1859, when she entered Monmouth college. She completed her course there and graduated with the class of 1862, then took up her teaching work. Until 1870 she taught near Biggsville, then took a position in the Central School of Monmouth where she taught six years, then went to the Harding school and taught there for twenty-six years, giving up that work about 1902. For some time she had made her home with her uncle, David Graham, and for the last twenty years she lived with her cousin, Mrs. C.C. McCoy.
Early in her life Miss McDill was a member of the South Henderson church, then after coming to Monmouth she was a member of the Second United Presbyterian church. Her funeral was held at the home of Mrs. McCoy, and was conducted by her pastor, Dr. T.C. Pollack, assisted by Dr. J.H. Brown and Rev. J.A. Kennedy. Burial was in the Monmouth cemetery.
