Lee Hallmon and Ruthie Roper were married in 1912 and had 4 daughters, Ethel Lorene, Edna Mae, Lois Pauline and Ella Ruth. Lee worked for many years as a senior clerk and assistant postmaster in the Bessemer Post Office and became Postmaster at Jonesboro before his retirement. He later did accounting work for a real estate firm. Active throughout his life in the Baptist church, he served for many years as a Sunday School Superintendent. He was also secretary for the Bessemer Masonic Lodge. Lee Hallmon was much loved by his children and revered by his 8 grandchildren. We miss him to this day.
