Myrtle Anderson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Septimus Anderson, was born in Brown County, Cooperstown, Ill., August 19, 1879. When four years old the family moved to a farm in Franklin County, Hildreth, Nebraska.

In 1898 she was united in marriage to James Henry Carpenter. To this union was born five children: Mrs. Evelyn Jones and Mrs. Alta Jones and Richard Carpenter of Hastings, Nebr., and Mrs. Eunice Morse of Crete, Nebr., and a daughter, Myrtle Alberta, who died in infancy.

In 1919, the family moved to Clay Center, Nebr., where after a lingering illness her husband passed away on April 29, 1923. In 1925 she was united in marriage to Dick Meyer of Clay Center.

The deceased was a member of the Christian church, which she joined in 1925. She was also a member of the Rebekah and Eastern Star lodges for many years, of which she took an active part and enjoyed very much.

Having been in poor health for many years, she with her daughter Eunice Morse, made a trip to Boise, Ida., to visit her brother, Harry Anderson and family, in hope that the change in climate would be helpful, where she passed away unexpectedly on August 27, 1945, at the age of 66 years and 7 days.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Dick Meyer, a stepson, Dale Meyer, who is in the Armed Service overseas; four children, Evelyn, Alta, Eunice and Richard; four brothers; four grandchildren and a host of relatives and dear friends.

She was a devoted wife and mother and dearly loved by all who knew her and was ready to go when the Lord called her.
