U.S. Army veteran of World War II

Anthony J. Sciocchetti, of Marcus Hook, a retired car salesman, musician and World War II veteran, died June 17 at Crozer-Chester Medical Center.
Mr. Sciocchetti was reared and educated in Marcus Hook.
He was a salesman for several car dealerships, including Murphy Ford in Chester where he worked for 10 years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the European Theater of Operations.
He was a lifelong member of the Immaculate Conception of Lourdes Catholic Church in Marcus Hook. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 926 in Ogden, and the Musicians Union No. 484 of Chester. For many years, he played trumpet with his band in local clubs.
Mr.Sciocchetti enjoyed playing golf.
He was the widower of Elizabeth "Betty" Irey Sciocchetti who died in 1968, and the son of the late Ponfilo and Louise Schiocchetti. He was also preceded in death by six siblings.
Survivors: Sons, Mark Sciocchetti of Portsmith, Ohio, John R. Sciocchetti of Marcus Hook, with whom he made his home; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Services: Mass, 10:30 a.m. Monday, Immaculate Conception of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Marcus Hook.
Visitation: 8:30-10 a.m. Monday, Joseph A. Ward Funeral Home, 1459 Market St., Linwood, Lower Chichester.
Burial: Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery, Upper Chichester.
