Olawole was born on the 26th 0f July 1978 to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Doherty Oladotun Akinsanmi. For his primary education, he went to Lara Day Nursery/Primary School Ikeja, then to Iyaniwura Nursery/Primary School Ilupeju and finished at Ifako International School in 1988.
For his Secondary School, he was admitted to Lagos State Model College Igbonla but had to transfer to Saint Joseph Secondary School Idimangoro Agege in 1989 where he passed his West African School Certificate Examination in flying colours. He was admitted to the University of Ibadan to read Electronics/Electrical Engineering in November, 1994. He transferred to the University of North Carolina, Charlotte in the spring of 1998 due to the incessant closure of nigerian universities. He completed his course in electrical engineering in the spring of 2002 and enrolled for his Masters Degree programme in the same University. Not feeling fully challenged, he transferred to the University of Maryland, College Park and completed the programme of Masters in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) in June 2005.
He started his career with Intel Corporation, Phoenix, Arizona in August 2005 as a PPV Module development engineer in the Sort/Test technology development organization in ATTD. He was a key contributor to the development of system-level test solutions for the Intel Core Duo and the next two generations of the company's microprocessors before he was called for higher assignment on 9th February, 2007.
As a student, he was a high achiever from primary to his Masters level. He had many awards to his credit. In the secondary school, he was a national winner in the first Dental Essay competition organized by Lever Brothers Nigeria in 1993, got the award for the best behaved student of his set in the secondary school in 1994.
At work he got a lot of commendation awards, the last of which was the Spontaneous Recognition award in 2006 for identifying Linux Kernel issue for CC and providing debugging information to supplier to help resolve the issue and for Role Modeling the Intel values: Discipline, Result Orientation.
He was a very hardworking young man, loving and lovable. He spread warmth everywhere he went and was always willing to lend a helping hand to others; hence he had many friends across the globe. He was very creative and demonstrated a high mental capability that enabled him to analyze in a fashion that allowed him to view all the subtle but inherent pieces which are most times overlooked by others. No wonder his direct boss had this to say of him "Wally (as he was fondly called) greatly influenced his team members with his ‘contagious' smile and an enthusiasm that he brought to work each day. He was a very sharp, confident, and dedicated Engineer who contributed great ideas to all the projects he worked on. He was always willing to help out on any project without hesitation. With his great sense of humor and cheerfulness, Wally made our workplace a great place to be"
