Sheldon retired from the Navy in 1984 with 34 years of service. Since 1985 Sheldon owned managed Jast Wearables. His passion was golf and he cherished family and friends. On December 18, 1957 he married Anita Loberg of Grand Rapids.
He is survived by his wife Anita; Two daughters, Thea Faye (Rob) of Chula Vista, CA, and Shellie Ann (Ken) serving in the U S Navy, stationed in Guam on the U S Frank Cable AS40; two grandsons, Justin Sheldon Fowler and Cory Phillip Crawford; three granddaughters, Cheyenne Crawford, Emily Fowler, and Sarah Fowler; one sister Verna Peasley (Roy) of Erhard; one brother, Howard Saunders(Kathy) of Red Wing; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
A Celebration of Sheldon's life with Masonic and Fleet Reserve Memorial Service was held on January 15, 2008, in Imperial Beach, CA.
