Dies at Home
Of Daughter
Jesse E. Long, 67, 1416 Ohio, died at 3:45 a.m. today at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Estella Hanrahan, 2200 S. 4th. Mr. Long had been in failing health the past five years and critical the past six months.
Mr. Long was born March 21, 1893, at Holiday, Kan., and was a son of Louis and Rebecca Jane Surface Long. Mr. Long came to Leavenworth from Holiday when he was a small boy and this had been his home ever since.
On Dec. 18, 1916, at St. Joseph, Mo., he married Miss Rhoda Richardson. Mrs. Long survives him. He was retired from the Missouri Valley Shops.
Besides his wife of the home, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Leola Kroll, RR 3; Mrs. Estella Hanrahan, 2200 S. 4th and Mrs. Ann Dunlap, 618 Middle; one sister, Mrs. Bertha Concannon, RR 2; one half brother, Murray Surface, Leavenworth; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at teh Davis Funeral Church. Burial will be in the family lot in Mt. Muncie Cemetery. The body will be at the Davis Funeral Church.
