Richard William Lupei, age 56, of Yorkville, IL, passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 19, 2001 at the Rush-Copley Medical Center, in Aurora, IL.
    He was born in Texarkana, TX the son of Victor and Vera (Harberts) Lupei. Mr. Lupei was a member of the Yorkville Congregational United Church of Christ in Yorkville, IL. He worked many years with his father in the family owned company, Midwest Elevator, in Aurora, IL. Richard was, at this time, employed with grounds maintenance by Inland Real Estate Development Corporation, in Yorkville, IL. Richard spent many happy times fishing and keeping bees with his father at the Fox Valley Apiary, in Yorkville, IL. His family always remembered him as a gentle and kind hearted man. He was always more than ready to help all of them in any way that he could. Richard was a loving son, brother, uncle and great-uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
    He is survived by his mother, Vera Lupei of Yorkville, IL; his brothers, Donald (Cynthia) Lupei of Yorkville, IL and Jack (Terry) Lupei of Sugar Grove, IL; sister, Vicki (Ron) Peterson of St. Charles, IL; his nieces and nephew, Alicia (Chris) Hines of Geneva, IL, Michelle and Nichole Lupei of Yorkville, IL; and Jonathon Lupei of Sugar Grove, IL; as well as his great-nephews, Taylor and Brendan Hines of Geneva, IL.
    He was preceded in death by his father, Victor P. Lupei, on February 24, 2000.
    Funeral Services for Mr. Lupei will be held at 10:00a.m. on Monday, April 23, 2001 at the Yorkville Congregational United Church of Christ in Yorkville, IL with the Reverend Steven Boorsma officiating. Interment will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery, Yorkville, IL. Friends may call from 2:00 until 5:00p.m. on Sunday, April, 22, 2001 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 E. Countryside Parkway, Yorkville, IL.
