MRS. EDWARD E. BENNER DEAD

Knox City Lady, 82 Years Old. Buried Today in Bee Ridge Cemetery.

Mrs. Edward F. Benner of Knox City died at her home at 6:30 o'clock Tuesday evening, at the are of 82. She was born near Blandinsville, Ill., June 27, 1855, where she lived until her marriage to Mr. Benner Feb. 25, 1977. He died Feb. 2, 1938.

The first year after marriage the couple lived in Illinois, then moved to Atchinson County, Missouri. In 1883 they came to Knox County, where they lived on a farm for 52 years, then moved to Knox City. On Feb. 28, 1937, the children and grandchildren gathered to celebrate their sixtieth wedding anniversary, which fell on Feb. 25.

Surviving are six children: Mrs. Josie Lewis, LaBelle; Mrs. Eva Baker, Kirksville; Mrs. Essie Johnston, Zearing, Ia.; Roy E. Benner, LaGrange; E. Ray and Isa Benner, Knox City. The eleven grandchildren, who are: Francis Sherwood; Hazel McKay; Edward Herbert and Ben Baker; Mrs. W. F. Hall; Mildred Good; Helen and Dale Johnston, and Doris Jean and Marilyn Sue Benner. There are nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the home at 1:30 o'clock this afternoon, with services by the Rev. N. S. Dunham. Burial will be in the Bee Ridge cemetery.
