Anna Lou Black Wolfe, 90, of Longwood Plantation, Orangeburg, entered into the nearer presence of her Lord God and Jesus Christ to be with her beloved husband, Dr. Albert B. Wolfe.

She was the eldest daughter of the late Dr. Arthur Lloyd and Lettie Belue Black. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a major in fine arts. When she was a student at Georgia, she was in the first class of 30 female students to take courses at Georgia Tech. While she was living in Atlanta, she met Dr. Wolfe, a resident intern surgeon. After marriage, they settled in Dr. Wolfe's home in Orangeburg. She played an active role in the community and was always concerned with helping those less fortunate. She served on the Mental Health Board, was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, a Circle Leader and helped with the Home Department at St. Paul's. She volunteered at CCMO and was a member of the Junior Service League. She served as Girl Scout leader and Boy Scout leader when her children were young. She was an avid bridge player, golfer and loved to grow flowers in her yard. She spent time on the board of directors at the Country Club of Orangeburg and was active in the Ladies' Golf Association. She served on the board of directors at Santee Cooper Resort.

She was preceded in eternal rest by her parents; husband; a sister, Amelia B. Smoak; a brother, Noah Anthony Black; and a daughter-in-law, Mary Lyon Wolfe. She is survived by a daughter, Anna Karin Wolfe of Lexington; three sons, Albert Lloyd Wolfe of Orangeburg, Anthony Sawyer Wolfe of San Francisco, CA, and Thomas Christian Wolfe of Wolfton; a brother, Dr. Arthur King Black of Birmingham, AL; two grandchildren, Mary Ashley Wolfe and Albert Lloyd Wolfe, Jr.; a great-granddaughter, Anna Lu Wolfe; a number of nieces and nephews; and a special family friend, Sara Alexander.
