Barbara Bennett, age 79, a resident of Irving, Texas, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 5, 2010. Born November 15, 1930 to Dale and Lois Bailey in Galesburg, Illinois, she is survived by her husband of 57 years, Don; daughter, Wendy of Irving; son, Ric of Flower Mound; sister, Pat Gilbert of St. Louis, Missouri, and nieces and nephews. Barbara collected antiques, crocheted afghans, many for the homebound ministry at First Baptist Church of Irving, and volunteered for the Dallas Area Parkinsonism Society, serving as executive board member and treasurer for many years. Visitation: 6-8 p.m., Tuesday at Donnelly's Funeral Home, Irving. Services: Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Irving. Memorial contributions may be made to Dallas Area Parkinsonism Society.
