Lucy Ann Johnson was the daughter of Osa Adalphus "Dolphus" Johnson and Louisa Luvenia "Vennie" Moore Johnson. She married Nathan A. Gardner on Dec. 8, 1894 in Chatham, N.C. at the age of 22, the groom was 25. The family had seven children; Hettie, Luther, Minnie, Hurlie, Rachel, Annie Bell, who died when she was a year old, and Nellie. Lucy passed away when Nellie was very little still. She was very beautiful and I am told loved her children very much.
