Ethel Wallace was the fourth of five children born to Hubert Embree Wallace Sr. and Cassie Ida Gentry. Ethel married Elmer Blunt Tally in 1935. They share their wedding date with Ethel's older sister Minnie Marie Wallace and her husband Clarence Benjamin Speck. They had one son named William Allen born in 1936 and a daughter born in 1945.
