Robert C. Beare, 89, Scottsburg, died Thursday, Dec 1, at Scott Memorial Hospital.
He was a native of Clark County, an employee of Collins Funeral Home, a retired plant supervisor for the old Smilth Cabinet Co. and a former pastor of Plattsburg United Methodist Church and Conway United Methodist Church in Washington County. He was a member of Vienna United Methodist Church and Scottsburg Optimist Club and a former member of the old Vienna Water Board.
Survivors include his wife, the former Delores M. Hall; two sons, William C. Beare of Ocala, Fla., and Bruce A. Beare of Scottsburg; three daughters, Karen Smith of Indianapolis, Kathy Meeks of North Vernon and Debbie Barnes of Crothersville; a brother James Beare of Cincinnati; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services were conducted Sunday at the Collins Funeral Home with burial in the Fairview Cemetery.
Bob was the son of Lafayette and Sarah Elizabeth (Dean) Beare.
He was the father of Shirley Gladys Beare, Dorothy Lucille, Beare, Robert Calvin Beare Jr., Joann Hazel Beare, Karen Beare, Kathy Beare, Debra Beare, William Beare and Bruce Beare.
