August Arthur Dedrickson, son of Peter August and Mary Dedrickson, was born on Nov. 11, 1887 in Saronville community and passed away May 23, 1962 at Hastings, at the age of 74 years, 6 months and 12 days

His entire life was spent in Clay county (sic). He attended rural schools in Clay county (sic) as a boy. He was converted at an early age in a revival meeting and joined the Clay Center Emmanuel Evangelical Church in 1915.

On Feb 9, 1916 he was united in marriage to Miss Ethel Swigart of Clay County. One son and one daughter came to bless their home.

He was a devout Christian and always was active in the work of the church which he loved He was a member of the board of stewards, assistant class leader of his church, delegate to the Clay County Council of Churches and the lay representative to annual conference.

Art was preceded in death by his father and mother, two brothers and two sisters.

He leaves to mourn his passing his widow, Mrs. Ethel Dedrickson; one son, Dale Dedrickson and one daughter, Dorothy, (Mrs. John Cuff) both of Hastings, 6 grandchildren; 5 brothers. Oscar and Harry of Clay Center, George of Excelsior Springs, Mo., Carl of Harvard and Oliver of Joplin, Mo.; two sisters, Mrs. L. N. Davidson of Sheridan Wyo.; and Mrs. George Christiansen of Kaycee, Wyo; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the Clay Center Emmanuel Evangelical United Brethren Church, Friday afternoon, with Rev. Russell A. Pfeifer officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Pfeifer. A male quarter (sic), composed of Eugene Mack, Bert Parker, Lester Nelson, ad Ted Nelson, accompanied by Mrs. Ted Nelson, sang two songs "Beyond the Sunset," and "Going Down the Valley."

Max Jacobson, Gayle Mack, Milford Sundling, Edward Forberg Harold Brumond and Homer Carlson were the pall bearers

Interment was at the Clay Center cemetery (sic).
