Joanne J. Anthony, 73, of 1890 Wake Robin Circle, Dubuque, died at 3:35 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2010, peacefully at home, surrounded by her family.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 19, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 18, at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., where there will be a parish wake service at 7:30 p.m.
Joanne was born on June 24, 1936, in Dyersville, Iowa, daughter of Joseph and Martha (Jacobsmeier) Neuhaus. She married Richard W. "Dick" Anthony on May 3, 1958, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersvillle, Iowa.
Joanne was employed at Target for 14 years until her retirement.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She and Dick were former members of the Elks Club.
Joanne enjoyed playing euchre with her weekly card club and traveling. Joanne and Dick wintered in Crystal Beach and Corpus Christi, Texas, and Scottsdale, Ariz. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Surviving are her husband, Richard W. "Dick" Anthony, of Dubuque; a daughter, Jill R. (Mike) Anthony Fuller, of Prairie du Chien, Wis.; two sons, Kenneth P. Anthony, of Dubuque, and Robert J. Anthony, of Somewhere, Ariz.; five grandchildren, Tera Anthony, Nicholas Anthony, Molly Horsfield, Eric (Amanda) Horsfield and Katie Horsfield; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Inez (Clair) Fannon, of Edgewood, Iowa; two brothers, Al (Dorothy) Neuhaus and Don (Mary) Neuhaus, both of Dyersville, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Marie Neuhaus, of Manchester, Iowa; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Christine Horsfield; a son, Steven Anthony; and a brother, Lavern Neuhaus.
