Mason Headley died at the Galesburg Cottage Hospital at 6 p.m., as a result of injuries received in a truck-train accident at the Hermon crossing at noon. He was badly injuried when the truck he was driving was struck by a main train. He was an employe of the Knox County Highway department. He was married to Catherine Smith on July 14, 1892. He was survived by three children Mrs Otis Williamson, Mrs Geraldine Steele, and William S. Headley, A half-sister Mrs William Bieber, and a half-brother Ira Headley. He had four grandsons in World War II at the time of his death.
