Nannie May (Burgess)
Ford, 86, died Sunday, April II, 2004, She was born to Ida Estelle (Purdy) Burgess and Robert Washington Burgess in Pryor, Okla., on Oct. 3, 1917. She married John C. Ford of Monterey, Ky., Nov. 4, 1943. The couple later made their home in Claremore where she worked as a telephone operator, retiring from Southwestern Bell in McAlester, Okla., in the late 1970's. Ford spent her last years in Rockford, Ill., near her son John's family. Memorial services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, May 8, 2004, in Shipman's Jim Green Funeral Chapel. Interment w1ll be in Fairview Cemetery next to her parents. Arrangements are under the direction of Shipman's Jim Green Funeral Home, Pryor. Ford is survived by her son John and wife Harriett, Rockford, Ill.; three grand- daughters; three great- grandchildren; sisters Margaret Leoma Patillo, Mary Belle Coulter and Demoie Irene Worten; numerous nieces and grand- nieces and nephews.
