Donald L. "Dewey" Lamberson, 89, Michigantown, died at 1:05 a.m. Saturday, June 12, 2010, at Hickory Creek Health Care in Lebanon.

He was born Nov. 23, 1920, in Clinton County to Herman and India Ines (Hodson) Lamberson.

He married Mary Ellen (Downey) on Nov. 16,1941, in Hobbs, and she survives.

He was a lifelong farmer. He graduated from Forest High School in 1938, where he played basketball.

He was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church, Beard Masonic Lodge F and AM, Michigantown Lions Club, and the Farm Bureau. He also had served as Warren Township trustee, ASCS Board, and for several years Dewey played Amateur Independent League Basketball, where he played center, and also had played softball for Brickshanty in Clinton County.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Lamberson, Michigantown; two daughters, Gale M. Roth, Grand Rapids, Mich., and Linda Dale Lamberson and her husband, Marc, Voyvodich, Portland, Maine, and three grandchildren, Lauren Roth, New York City, Kevin Voyvodich, Portland, Maine, and Kristen Voyvodich, London, England.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at Stout and Son Funeral Home, Russiaville Chapel, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville. Mack Paris will officiate.

Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery at Frankfort.
