MY PERSONAL FRIEND

Paul was a doctor in The Dalles for many years. I had the honor of becoming his friend when I was his caregiver before he passed.
Paul and his younger sister, Maxine, were born to Max and Pauline (Reuter) Vogt in The Dalles. His grandfather, Frank Vogt, came to Oregon from Germany with his brother, Maximillion. Maximillion Vogt was a well-known and prosperous businessman in The Dalles for many years and was known for his kindness and generosity. It was Maximillion Vogt that gifted the city of The Dalles in his will in February of 1911 with a grand fountain (known as the Vogt Fountain) that would sit at the corner of Washington and 3rd Streets in The Dalles. That fountain has since been moved to its present day location in the memorial rose garden located at Sorosis Park in The Dalles.
Paul was a very intelligent, confident and proud man who was unafraid to state his opinion. He will be missed.
He is survived by his wife, Lucetta (Alden) Vogt; his son, Paul Robert Vogt; his daughter, Dorothy Anne Bialous and her husband, Paul; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
