SYLVESTER BETTS: Keokuk acquaintances will be pained to learn of the death of Sylvester Betts which occurred at the home of his bro: Benjamin Betts in Burlington last eve. He was visiting in Burlington & was attacked by facial erysinelas last Sunday, the disease made rapid progress until it resulted in death. MrBetts was about 36yrs old & was formerly engaged in the horse business in this city, going to Muscatine abt a year ago. He was a member of the IA Legion Of Honor. He is survived by his wife who was MissBertha Hennemann whom he married about 8yrs ago & 4 children: Hazel, Emmet, Rupert & Allen were born. He is also survived by his parents Mr&Mrs Matthew Betts of this city & his bros: Eli-Keokuk; Benjamin-Burlington & CM. The remains will be brought to Keokuk this afternoon on K Line Train. MrsHennemann & sons: Albert & Wm were in Burlington yesterday, called there by his illness.

The sad death of MrBetts occurred last eve at the home of his bro: Ben Betts. The deceased was 33yrs old & was sick only a few days, but nothing serious was thought of it until yester-day, when he became very low & from that time on sank rapidly until his death a few hours later. He is survived by a wife & 4 child-ren who reside in Keokuk, where the remains will be taken this afternoon for burial. {Interment at Oakland Cem}
