Florence A. Baker, 91, of Gonzales died Tuesday, March 12, 2002. She was born July 14, 1910, in Lytton Springs, to the late Allen and Kate Barker Townsend.
She married Zilmon Baker on May 1, 1937 and he preceded her in death on June 28, 1994. She was a poultry processor and a member of the Assembly of God.
Survivors include her daughters, Elizabeth Hahn, Juanita Iley, and Marie Valenta of Gonzales and Evelyn Pfuhl of Shiner, a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Buford Baker and four sisters.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, March 13 at 4 p.m. at the Pilgrim Cemetery with the Rev. Sam Allen officiating.
Buffington Funeral Home of Gonzales was in charge of arrangements.
