Preston B. McPhail of Tulsa died Thursday at a Tulsa hospital. He was 81.
He was born May 25, 1918, Stephens County, Oklahoma to Gates and Bertha (Brewer) McPhail. He graduated from Comanche High School and attended Oklahoma A&M college for four years.
McPhail served in the U.S. Navy. He was a construction consultant and professional structural inspector.
McPhail, a member of Skelly Drive Baptist Church, was married to Billie Bailey, December 12, 1959.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Arthur Miles McPhail and sister, Martha Elizabeth (McPhail) Douglas and three children, Barbara, Preston, Jr., and Loretta.
He is survived by his wife, Billie of the home, four daughters and sons-in-law; Eileen and Al Thomas of Pennsauken, NJ, Karen and Glendale Markwell of Meeker, OK, Micki DeYoung of Tulsa, OK, and Marilyn and James Dulaney of Tulsa, OK, one son and daughter-in-law: Preston Charles and Tamara McPhail of Canton, MI, one brother and sister-in-law, Gates and Loretta McPhail of Duncan, OK and one sister, Frances Ireland of Lawton, OK, 16 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Graveside services are set for 10 a.m. Monday at Sunnyside Cemetary, Meeker, OK. The Rev. Kent House will lead memorial services at 2 p.m. at Skelly Drive Baptist Church in Tulsa. The music played at his funeral was "His Eye is on the Sparrow", "Because He Lives", and "Victory in Jesus". Mike Sabo was the soloist and Brenda Sabo was the organist. Moore Funeral Home, 9350 East 51st, Tulsa, will provide arrangements.

His former wife was Gladys Cooper McPhail, mother of Eileen, Karen, Barbara, Preston, Jr., and Loretta.
