Cheryl Ann Montgomery, life long Ponca City resident, went home to be with her heavenly father on Monday, June 7, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family. She was 49.
Cheryl was born February 1, 1961 to Ephriam and Carol (Reed) Jordan in Ponca City, Oklahoma. She attended McKinley Elementary School, East Junior High and Ponca City High School. She later received her G.E.D. here in Ponca City. Cheryl was married to Brennan Montgomery on May 11, 1979 in Ponca City at St. Mary's Catholic Church and they had three children, Bambi, Brandi and Mikel. She was employed at Pat's Food, Dr. Nida Vet, the Conoco Gas Station, Brandt's Hardware, Mediclaims Inc. and Sykes Enterprises Inc.
Cheryl was an avid "I Love Lucy" fan, but there was nothing more important to Cheryl than her family, especially her grandchildren. They were the light of her life. She was very involved with each activity her grandchildren were interested in whether horse riding, jeep riding, riding four wheelers or attending their ballgames she was at all of the events. Cheryl was even present for all births in the family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister and she will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving husband, Brennan of the home; children, Bambi Sundeen, Brandi Torres and husband, Jose, Mikel Montgomery and wife, Mindy all of Ponca City and Joey Alexander and wife, Charla of Norfold, Virginia; sister, Brenda Stinson and husband, Roger of Marland, Oklahoma; grandmother, Nettie Jordan of Enid, Oklahoma; aunts, Barbara Moore and husband, Virgil of Longview, Texas and Patricia Cantrell of Alamenda, California; brother-in-law, Tony Montgomery and wife, Cindy of Ponca City; 10 grandchildren, Chayston, Brandon, Britney, Tatyana, Jade'lyn, Alexandria, Noah, Cassa'lyn, Gabriella and Julianna; nephews, Richard Bryer, Jeremy Bryer and wife, Misty, Danny Bryer and Jonathan Montgomery; and great nieces and nephews, Chance Bryer, Austin Bryer, Savannah Bryer, Preston Bryer, Jordan Bryer and Mia Bryer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ephriam and Carol Jordan.
Pall bearers will be Tony Lemming, Cameron Hurd, Bill Bridges, Brandon Coleman, Preston Greenwell and Joseph LeClair. Honorary pall bearers will be Jackie Higgins, Billy Higgins, Gary Higgins, Earl Howe, Troy Neilson and the Knights of Columbus.
The prayer vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 11, 2010 at Grace Memorial Chapel with Deacon Richard Robinson presiding. The mass of Christian burial will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, June 12, 2010 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Joseph Schwarz serving as celebrant. Burial will follow in Resthaven Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel. The family is very grateful to Hospice of North Central Oklahoma for all of their support and comfort during this trying time.
