Henry B Woodruff, an aged citizen of this place, who has been an invalid for several years, suffering from rheumatism, died at 9 o'clock, Wednesday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs Richard Van Vleck, having reached the ripe age of 71 years.
Deceased was born in York State in 1825 and came to Chicago when he was 14 years of age. He was married in that city, removing to this place where he has lived for 45 years. He served in the defense of his country for four years as Quartermaster in the 12th Illinois Cavalry. He leaves besides his aged wife, five children to mourn his demise, Mrs Mary Van Vleck, Mrs Martha Van Vleck, William and James, of this place and George residing in Colorado.
The funeral was held at the M.E. church at 2 o'clock, yesterday afternoon, under the auspices of Ellis Post, G.A.R., Rev. L.H. Mills conducting the services.
