Mrs Ruth Ann Woodruff passed away on Saturday March 16 at 4:30 pm at the home of her daughter, Mrs Charles Van Vleck. She had been confined to her bed for some time and death resulted from the effects of old age.

The deceased was born in Detroit, Michigan, July 2, 1827 and was 79 years, 8 months, and 14 days at the time of her death. Her husband and daughter Mary, wife of Richard Van Vleck, have preceded her, the former passing away November 25, 1896 and the latter about a year ago. She is survived by three children, Mrs Martha Van Vleck, James and William Woodruff, all of whom reside in Pecatonica and vicinity.

The funeral services were held at the home on Monday afternoon at one o'clock, Rev. C.W. Jaycox, officiating.
