Born in Lafayette and reared in Brookston, she was the daughter of Frank and Ethel Ellen Elston Brown. She was married Sept.30, 1934, to Alfred R. Schley and attended Brookston Federated Church. She was agent at Delphi
for REA Express Co. Her husband is a retired employee of the company. Mrs. Schley was being taken to the hospital in an ambulance as a direct admission patient when a car reportedly pulled in front of the ambulance and the two collided in Lafayette. Cause of death is being investigated by the Tippecanoe County Coroner.
Surviving with the husband are three sons, Robert E. Schley of Battle Ground, Edward R. Schley of Colburn and Richard A. Schley of Delphi; three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Nancy) Smith of Lafayette, Mrs. Kay Taylor who resides in Delphi with her father; and Mrs. Roy (Conner) Shaw of Americus; one sister. Mrs. Ralph (Betty) Tyrie, and a brother,
Ralph Brown, both of Lafayette; 16 grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren. Final rites were Saturday at
Lafayette with the Rev. Floyd Ellis officiating. Interment was in Battle Ground cemetery.
