Lillian was born in Sandy, Utah. When she was three years old, she moved to Long Beach, California with her family.

In 1937 Lillian married Merle Anderson Mehler. He was born 25 Jun 1914 in Los Angeles County, California. They loved to dance together and he was great fun to be with, but he had no steady job. Lillian was the sole wage earner with a waitress job. This made her unhappy and their marriage was short lived.

17 May 1941 Lillian married Gordon B. Gann in Los Angeles County, California. He was working for Proctor & Gambles making soap in Long Beach. Lillian became very active in several women's clubs with her mother.

1943 Gordon was transferred to Modesto, California with Proctor & Gambles. In 1945 they moved back to Long Beach and Gordon became a dispatcher at a trucking outfit.

In 1947 they had their only child, a daughter. Also that year Lillian's parents gave all the children property in Blue Tent (now Nevada City), Nevada County, California. Lillian kept her property and had a well drilled, but never built on it.

In 1949, Gordon became a State Farm Insurance Agent. He sold insurance mostly to dairy farmers and Lillian did all the office work.

In 1955 they bought a home in the Lakewood Country Club housing development. It had a large golf course, but neither of them played golf. As the insurance business grew, Gordon bought a big boat and spent lots of time sailing.

By 1990, Lillian's macular degeneration was so bad that she could barely see.

1995 Lillian was diagnosed with cancer and fought it for several years.

02 Jun 1998 Gordon died and Lillian was alone. She spent lots of time playing her beautiful big organ by ear and enjoying her grandchildren.

In 2003 Lillian's sold her property in Nevada City for over $100,000 and about the same time her cancer returned.
