George V. Taylor, 78 retired refinery opertor, died at 3:10 a.m. Thursday at the Rice County District Hospital, Lyons, following a four-day illness.

He was born January 11, 1883 at Pittsburg, and married Ora Grace Engelbert March 9, 1927, at Oklahoma City. They moved from there to Chase in 1932.

Survivors are the widow the of the deceased, seven daughters, Mrs. Florence Crites, Mrs. Margaret Brennan, Mrs. Irene Heidemann, Mrs. Elizabeth Morgan, all of Cushing, OK. Mrs. Grace Truhlar, Chase, Mrs. Betty Jo Sells, Lyons, Mrs. Maxine Clayton, Kimball, NE; six sons, Arthur N. of Warrenton, OR, Clarence, Lake Charles, LA, Herman, Cushing, OK, Harold, Pueblo, CO, George Jr., Gillette, WY, Joseph, Kimball, NE; a stepson, Raymond Brown, Plainville; a brother Joe A. of Cushing, OK; four sisters, Mrs. Maggie Schemmer, of Perry, OK, Mrs. Elizabeth Goodwill, San Jose, CA, Mrs. Ella Vanderberg, Mrs. Nettie Bradford, both of Oklahoma City, OK; 30 grandchildren and five great-grandchldren.

He died Thursday, February 23, 1961 in Lyons, Kansas.

Services were held at Crawford-Miller Mortuary, Lyons, Kansas on Saturday, February 25, 1961 at 4 p.m.

Interment at Lyons Municipal Cemetery, Lyons, Kansas.
