R. A. Povall Dies at Lexington
Retired Newspaper Publisher Succumbs to Heart Attack Last Night

R. A. Povall, retired newspaper publisher and former owner of the Lexington Advertiser, died at his home in Lexington last night about 9 o'clock following a heart attack.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Mr. Povall was engaged in newspaper work, for almost half a century before selling the weekly paper in 1941. He was managing editor and publisher of the paper for many years and during his ownership the publication was rated as one of the outstanding county weeklies of the nation. He was a man of unusual business ability and promoted many projects in Lexington and Holmes County that today reflected his confidence and judgment in the citizens and resources of the territory.

He is survived by the following children: Mrs. Sidney P. Rhyne, Mrs. Emily Lucas, Cass Povall, Sessions Povall, George Povall and Allie S. Povall, all of Lexington.
