Timothy O'Connor was born about 1807 in Ireland. He came across the Atlantic in 1821 from Cork Ireland on the Ship, "Athens" as a young boy with his 4 brothers. They landed in Baltimore, Maryland. He had a farm in Opequon, Frederick, Virginia. This was right in the center of the Civil War. He married a Johanna Hanorah Lynch in Berkley County, West Virginia Feb 13, 1840 witnessed by a Mark James Murphy (I believe he is a possible family member) Together they had 10 children. He took the oath of allegience on March 3, 1878 in Woodstock, Virginia. No headstone has been found at this cemetery thus far. There are records from the Sacred Heart Catholic Church stating that he is interred at this cemetery. There are obituaries from several papers stating he is to be interred at this cemetery. His family has a plot but his name is not found showing that he was actually buried there. His wife Johanna had him committed for the reason stated: "Interference" which would mean that he had memory problems. He died there as a result of Dysentery in the Western State Lunatic Hospital. He had lived there from 1874 until his death in 1904. His son, Edward was also committed by Johanna in 1894 for chronic mania and delusions to the same facility. He also lived there until the end of his life in 1932 when he died from Pneumonia.
