BAXTER Funeral services for Tommy (Tom) Ray Alcorn, 61, of Lebanon, formerly of Baxter, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21, from the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Cookeville City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12-9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, and from 9 a.m. until time of services on Friday, at the funeral home.
Mr. Alcorn died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2005, in Saint Thomas Hospital.
He was born December 1, 1943, in Putnam County to the late Herman (Jack) Prettyman and Lois Julian Alcorn.
Mr. Alcorn was a graduate of the Putnam County School System and graduated from Tennessee Tech University in 1964 with a BS degree in business administration.
He was a billing specialist with Emdeon, formerly WebMD, and previously worked as credit manager with Aladdin Industries for more than 30 years.
Mr. Alcorn attended Leeville Church of Christ, and he served six years with the Tennessee National Guard.
His family includes his wife of more than 39 years, Joyce Sparkman Alcorn (whom he married May 20, 1966); a son, David Alcorn of Nashville; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Betty Alcorn of Rickman; and his mother-in-law, Kathleen Sparkman of Baxter.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Donald Sparkman.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association or to the charity of your choice.
Bros. Harold Parker and Dewayne Chaffin will officiate the services.
