Mary George Fulcher, 83, died Tuesday, June 8, 2010.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday, June 11, in First Baptist Church in Wellington, Texas. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Mary was born September 4, 1926, in Roanoke, Alabama to Leonard and Lurlene Vineyard. As a child, Mary, her sister and two cousins sang in a gospel quartet and attended all-night singings throughout George and Alabama, where she met and later married A.B. Earnest, Jr. Mary's desire was to have a singing group with her three daughters who performed in the Texas Panhandle area as the "Gospel Tones." A.B. and Mary moved to Wellington in 1964, where he was pastor of First Baptist Church. Mary was always involved in the church, teaching Sunday School, leading WMU, singing in the choir and helping with youth activities.

A.B. preceded her in death in 1968. After A.B.'s death, Mary relocated to Alabama with her two youngest daughters to be closer to family.

Mary and Albert Fulcher were married on September 14, 1969, in Roanoke. Mary became a nurse aide at Wellington Care Center and later became the activity director. She retired in August 2005 after 20 years of service.

Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Albert; three daughters and their husbands, Ginger White of Austin, Texas, and Jan and Calvin Stackhouse and Jenny and Clay Morris, all of Childress, Texas; three sons and their wives, Jerry and June Earnest of Denver, North Carolina, James and Judy Fulcher of Arlington, Texas, and Lynn and Patti Fulcher of Canadian, Texas; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Etta Bennett of Hogansville, Georgia, and Sara Portwood of LaGrange, Georgia; a brother, Jim Vineyard of Newnan, Georgia; numerous nieces and nephews; along with countless friends whose lives she touched.
