Civil War Service - He was drafted on Oct 2 1862 for 9 months. He joined Company C, Ohio 6th Cavalry Regiment on 11 Oct 1862 as a Private, before the Battle of Fredericksburg, Virginia. He was mustered out on July 29 1863 at the end of his term of service. This was after the Battle of Sheppardstown, Virginia
