James Delmar Vest, 84, of Hamilton, died Nov. 2, 2008 in the Forrest Oaks Nursing Home. Funeral Services were held Nov. 4, in the St. Thomas Catholic Church. Burial followed in the Cranfills Gap Cemetery.
Mr. Vest was born July 14, 1924 in Kentucky, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William and Martha Maddox Vest. He was married to Marcelyn Pederson on June 30, 1945 in Liberty.
Mr. Vest was a small business owner, selling agricultural feed. He proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corp during WWII where he received many honors including the Purple Heart for being wounded in the line of duty. He was a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Hamilton.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.
Survivors include his two children, Robert James Vest and Donna Carol Price; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
