James Elam Sr. was born Oct. 6, 1919, in Agnes, Texas. He was a member of Castle Hills Baptist Church in Azle.
Survivors: Son, James Elam Jr. of Tennessee; daughter, Marion "Sissie" Burris of Azle; sister, Mozelle Reed of Whitesboro; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
