John was originally buried in St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery but as Easton was growing, town elders wanted the church cemeteries moved outside of the city. St. John's, the German Reformed Cemetery, where the current Easton Library is located, the Jewish Cemetery and a few others were moved. Relatives, if found, were asked where they wanted their family members moved and if none were found, many were then moved to Easton Cemetery. Johann and his wife, Catharina were moved to Easton Cemetery. Their gravestones and presumably "their bodies" are in Section M 11-20 at Easton. Their stones are right inside the cemetery to the left along the wall. The old gravestones were placed in rows in this area. A number are broken and not in great condition. The photo shows the rows of the flat stones in Easton Cemetery.

His will was written July 25, 1791, and on September 2, 1791, his will was offered for probate. When he made his will, he listed he was living in Forks Township and most likely where he died.

In his will, he provides for his wife, Elizabeth Catharine and then he lists bequests for his ten children,

1. Son, John (Baptism record First Reformed Church of Christ)
2. Daughter, Christina, wife of Mathias Stacher(Stecher)
3. Daughter, Elizabeth, wife of Christopher Raub
4. Daughter, Catharine, wife of George Heitsman
5. Daughter, Susanna Christina, (Born 3.19.1769) wife of John Kocher
6. Son, Jacob
7. Son, John George
8. Daughter, Mary(Maria), no marriage listed, wife of Peter Swartz
9. Son, Peter
10. Son, David - Born Sept . 6, 1785

He appointed his son, Jacob and son-in-law, George Heitsman, executors of his last will and testament.
