Mrs. John Halstead, aged about 74 years, of near Greenville, Monroe county, died at the Hinton hospital, Saturday night. She underwent a surgical operation last week, with the hope of prolonging her life, but it was unsuccessful.
The deceased is survived by three sons and one daughter. The sons are: Wellington and Burte, of Huntington, and William, of Greenville. The name of the daughter, who also resides near Greenville, could not be learned.
The husband of the deceased died several years ago.
The remains were shipped to the home near Greenville, and will be buried at the cemetery, near Springfield.
