Sampson Babb was one of the sons of John James Babb and Calista Gary Babb. He had sisters named
Annie Babb and Daisey Babb and a brother named Charlie Babb.
He was first married to Harriett Lafoy Babb. They had two sons: Alvin Lee Babb and John David Babb. Harriett died when she was still young and Sampson Babb then married Minnie McGregor Babb. They lived between Greenville, SC, and Piedmont, SC. For years he operated a little store in front of his house. His birthplace was Fountain Inn, SC. Their grandchildren were: Betty Jo Babb, Sara Frances Babb, David Ray Babb, Myrtle June Babb, Richard Alvin Babb, Allen Leroy Babb.

NOTE: Harriett Lafoy Babb is buried in an unmarked grave on Cedar Lane Rd. in Greenville, SC, near the area called City View. It was called Monagan Cemetery.
