Eugene F. Bollig, 63, died Monday evening, November 3 at his home in Plainville. He was born near the Saline River in Ellis County (Kansas) on October 3, 1917 the son of Pete and Elizabeth (Meier) Bollig.

The Bolligs had lived in Plainville until ten years ago when they moved to Parryton, Texas. Gene retired as an oil field worker from Amoco in May of this year, and the couple had returned to Plainville in June. Gene was a World War II Navy veteran. His memberships include Sacred Heart Church and St. Anthony's Council No. 1857 of the Knights of Columbus.

Surviving relatives include his wife Irene of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Gordon (Cheryl) Dedrickson of Sutton, Neb., and Mrs. Larry (Beverly) Wilkerson of Zurich; seven brothers, Gus of Florida, William of Sterling, CO, Fadelis of lima, OH, Edwin and Jerome of Leadville, CO, Alfred of Goodland, and James of Denver, CO; three sisters, Mrs. Joe Polach of Junction City, Mrs. Alfred Nondorf of Wilson, and Mrs. Lionel Havlas of Plainville; and five grandchildren, Larry Jr., Billy, Sandy and Bobby Wilkerson, and Karla Dedrickson.

Funeral mass was at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, at Sacred Heart Church with Father James Grennan officiating. Burial was made in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. The family has requested that memorial contribution be made to the Heart Fund.
